How to Promote Your Affiliate Program

There must be some reason why some affiliates outperform others. The answer is simple it all boils down to how they promote the affiliate program they are trying to attract customers to.

My best advice about promoting an affiliate program for someone just starting out can be summed up in 5 simple tips.

1. Build a theme website: This is one of the keys to your success. What is a theme website? It is a website with a main theme, affiliate programs and informative content. For example you have a theme of health and fitness. This is quite a broad theme which you would probably narrow down. You would have a number of affiliate programs related to this field, which you can promote to the same market.
2. Write or have written reviews of your product: You would add reviews and informative articles to your website which will attract visitors and pre sell your affiliate programs. You can also distribute reviews and submit the page to the search engines. If you distribute articles and reviews do not put the same article on your website as Google will consider it to be duplicate content and may penalize your site. when you write reviews be sure that you have tried the product first so that you can write an honest review which is not just hype. The better your review the more you will be able to attract more potential customers to your sponsor’s site.
3. Start a free newsletter: to build a list of leads and potential customers you can offer a free newsletter to your visitors. This is a great promotional tool as it will allow you to build relationships with your potential customers and convert them to become buyers for your affiliate programs.
4. Distribute articles: write and distribute articles. This will not only bring targeted visitors to your site but create valuable back links to your website. this promotion takes time to be really effective but once you have started the ball rolling you will find the customers will follow. Article distribution is one of my favorites and a great way to bring traffic to your website. You just have to write or have written informative articles that will attract your targeted market. be sure that you have a good bio and write quality articles
5. Blog: Blogs are a fun way to attract visitors to your site. Blogger.com is especially useful as this site is owned by Google and Googlebots will spider it on a regular basis. When they do this they will follow your links and include the page or article into the Google index. Remember to social bookmark your blogs at onlywire.com and ping them at pingomatic.com.

There are of course many ways to drive traffic to your website. I have just mentioned 2 here. The trick is to use as many traffic methods as possible. The more traffic your send to your website the more people you can send to your sponsor’s site. The second trick is to join multiple affiliate programs which all target one market..
