The one mistake that costs affiliates 1000s in lost commissions.

Selling instead of pre selling-let me explain…

 

SELLING is when you put all your efforts into selling the product. This is fine if you have your own product or service but will actually loose you sales when you are an affiliate. This is because your affiliate link will go straight through to our sales page, which is designed to sell the product. if you try to sell then send your reader to our link and we sell to them you can see they will be hit with a double sales pitch. This will be a big turn off for your reader. Nobody likes being hit x2 with a sales pitch so this means that you will very likely loose this sale. This is the mistake that many affiliates make, costing them 1000s in lost commissions

 

However to increase your sales conversions you will need to PRE SELL

 

The art of pre selling:

 

What is pre selling? Pre selling is simply preparing your reader for the sale. You will create interest and curiosity in your offer. The reader will click through on your affiliate link and will get to your sponsor's Sales page. Because you have warmed your visitor to the sales they are far more likely to buy. This is your job as the affiliate

 

Your first promotions will be direct marketing by advertising in targeted ezines and on websites.

 

For this you will be using solo ads and classified ads.

Whenever and whenever you advertise remember to TEST and TRACK your results.

In this way you will see exactly which ads are working and what places are bringing the best results. Keep a record of all your findings.

 

Your signature file:

 

What is an email signature file? This is a short message about you and your business, which will include your URL. (or affiliate link)

 

What should you include in your signature file?

Make this a short 3-4 line file. remember do not ramble or insert  more than 2 URLs

Uses: posts on business forums, discussion boards and business networks.

 

 

Using forums and discussion boards:

 

You cannot advertise on business networks, forums and discussion boards but every time you post you can leave your email signature file with your website link. At first this will just be your affiliate link but later you will be directing this to your own website. There are several ways to post to these places. Answering questions and asking them is the most common. Some will even allow you to post articles. Read the rules and regulations very carefully before posting. Never advertise but always use your email signature file.

PPC Google Adwords

 

You can use Google Adword campaigns to drive traffic to your link and pick up some good sales conversions.

A word of caution.:

This is for those who have some knowledge of marketing.

The golden rule start with low bids and work up.

Read every word of the Google tutorials before you begin!

 

Be careful when using Pay-Per-Click search engines!

Many will just bring you traffic with little or no sales
